4.0 Installation Instructions

The topics that follow describe how to install Arcserve Backup for Windows server components, Windows agents, and non-Windows agents using the download files.

4.1 Install Arcserve Backup for Windows Server and Agents Using AB_16_5_1_*.zip

Use the steps that follow to install Arcserve Backup for Windows server components and agents using the file labeled AB_16_5_1_*.zip.

Unzip AB_16_5_1_*.zip into a temporary directory.
For example, c:\temp.

From the temporary directory, execute Setup.exe to start the installation.

4.2 Install Arcserve Backup for Windows Server and Agents Using AB_16_5_1_*.iso

Use the steps that follow to install Arcserve Backup for Windows server components and agents using the file labeled AB_16_5_1_*.iso.

Burn AB_16_5_1_*.iso to a blank DVD (DVD-R/DVD-RW).

From the root directory on the DVD, execute Setup.exe to start the installation.

4.3 Install Arcserve Backup Non-Windows Agents Using AB_16_5_1_WIN_DVS.iso

Use the steps that follow to install Arcserve Backup non-Windows agents using the file labeled AB_16_5_1_WIN_DVS.iso.

Burn AB_16_5_1_WIN_DVS.iso to a blank DVD (DVD-R/DVD-RW).

Mount the DVD on your local system.

From the [DVD mount point]\DataMoverandAgent on the DVD, execute install and follow the installation instructions for the Agents that you would like to install.
